The Munich-based artist Bruno Kuhlmann presents new paintings and drawings in a large spatial installation in the exhibition FRaNz das Pferd.
Since 2016, Bruno Kuhlmann has been a recurring presence at Galerie arToxin, where his exhibitions offer a resonant blend of historical reflection and contemporary interpretation. His latest series continues a thoughtful dialogue with the “Blue Rider,” the legendary early 20th-century Munich-based artists’ collective that reshaped modern art.
Drawing inspiration from Franz Marc and his contemporaries, Kuhlmann revisits the fervent artistic spirit of the era—while sharply questioning the euphoric embrace of war that swept through the movement. Through immersive installations weaving together video, drawing, and painting, his work serves as a powerful lens on the intersections of art, ideology, and memory.
