Smile if you can
Drawings / Video Maria Ploskow – Video / Sound Neda Ploskow

Maria Ploskow creates iconic worlds with fineliner and paper, but even more so with a mouse and computer. Together with her sister Neda, the artist duo calls themselves “The sound and icon machine.” The latest video shown, “Smile if you can,” by the two sisters can be understood as a bitter commentary on the current state of the world.
Maria’s drawings usually emerge in series. They depict, visually, a world without humans, futuristic landscapes, strange creatures, abstracted plants and planets or rather stars of our solar system—a very, very unique world, all rendered in black and white.
The artist’s infinite imagination is captured in the studio on paper and digital files. As a viewer, one cannot help but leave in appreciative amazement!
