Ben Goossens – Installation and Wall Objects

Opening: Sat, May 3rd, 2025, 6–9 pm
The artist is present.

The gallery artoxin showcases the exhibition morphing machinery, the third solo exhibition of sculptor Ben Goossens, following Aller Anfang ist leer (2015) and Transition (2018). Goossens creates a captivating spatial installation evolving from his wall objects. This installation transforms the gallery spaces into a mysterious environment reminiscent of decayed archaeological sites covered with layers of earth and plants, or dystopian science fiction scenarios where the earth has taken on new forms. Using simple materials such as polystyrene, transparent paper, and spray paint, Ben Goossens achieves impressive visual effects.
After studying sculpture under Professor Stephan Huber at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, which he completed in 2014, Goossens received multiple awards. Over the last ten years, he has been granted the following prizes and scholarships:

2014: Project grant from the Erwin and Gisela von Steiner Foundation, Munich
2016: Art Prize of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, Munich; Debutante Funding (Catalogue Support) by BBK, Munich; Fine Arts Scholarship from the City of Munich
2021: Work Scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Berlin
2022: Project Funding Neustart Kultur by BBK Berlin; Neustart Kultur Grant from the Stiftung Kunstfonds, Bonn
2023: Neustart Plus Grant from the Stiftung Kunstfonds, Bonn

The exhibition runs until June 5th, 2025.
