The roots of this musical encounter lie in Upper Austria’s Mühlviertel region, more precisely at the renowned Jazzatelier Ulrichsberg. All three members of the trio emerged from this creative environment: singer and composer Mara Kolibri, cellist Uli Winter, and drummer Fredi Pröll. They are united by a deeply ingrained commitment to musical freedom. While Winter and Pröll (also known as the duo Va Servito Ben Fresco) have shared an instinctive understanding of free improvisation for more than 40 years, Kolibri contributes her voice as a virtuosic, freely moving instrument that ranges between jazz and experimental vocal soundscapes.
The concert concept perfectly reflects this instinctive trust and deliberately breaks with traditional structures.
First set: The trio splits up, presenting the ensemble in three distinct duo configurations that interact spontaneously in an intimate dialogue.
Second set: Voice, cello, and percussion ultimately merge into a dense, collective soundscape—a completely free and organic whole.
